Scripture Memory #7!

It’s April 1st, and it’s time for another Bible verse to memorize. I’ve chosen to memorize James 2:22:

“You see, his (Abraham’s) faith and his actions worked together. His actions made his faith complete.” New Living Translation

I’ve heard it many, many times, that actions itself will not save me. And the same goes for faith. My actions and my faith have to work together. I’m in the process of reading a book called “After You Believe” by N. T. Wright. Very powerful thoughts in there. N. T. Wright asks the question: Once you’ve put your faith in Christ Jesus, and you are saved, you know that eternity will be with Jesus one day, you won’t perish (see John 3:16 “For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”). But what do you do in the meantime? And so that reminded me of this Bible verse. In the meantime I’m working on my actions and my faith, I’m working on getting them to work closer and closer together. I’m working on building character according to God’s Word. So this is my prayer that my faith and my actions will work together, and that my actions will make my faith complete.

What are you memorizing? Let’s hear it!

  1. My seventh verse is:

    Jude 1:24-25 (ESV)

Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy,(25) to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen
