Memory Verse #18

It’s been so cold this week. It’s cold outside and it’s cold inside. I’ve not had the heart to turn on the heating in our house yet. But in the office we had the air conditioning running on Sunday all day, and on Monday it switched to heat!!! Who can explain this weather pattern?
This morning my flowers in my pots all looked frosted. I had to think of a line in the movie “How to find a guy in 10 days”. Remember, when Matthew McConaughey’s character suggests to call the diamonds “frosting”? And then his boss opens the window and screams out loud, “Women of New York, frost yourselves!” Well, anyway, I had to think of that term “frosting”. My flowers got their frosting for free this morning! No expensive diamonds, nothing! Just free! And they looked beautiful! Even the zucchini leaves that don’t look anything special, looked very pretty with their own frosting on their leaves. Now I regret not having stopped to take some pictures. But I was running late for work, and when I think of it, I hardly ever stop to take a look at my flowers when I’m on my way to work. Too bad, I realize that now… But I’m glad I took a picture with my eyes this morning.
But the reason for my blog entry this morning is that it’s September 15th, and it’s time to pick another Scripture to memorize. This time around I’ll memorize from the book of James. I love the book of James. It’s so blunt, so direct and easy to follow. I’ve been reading it on the treadmill over the years many times. And so I’ve picked my “frosting” this morning from this book. Here it is:

“Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, you endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.” James 1:2-4 New Living Translation
What are you memorizing? I’d like to encourage those who started with me on January 1 to continue or to pick it up again! Come on, let’s hear your verses! Let’s encourage each other on this journey!
