Going into this week I am still thinking about the sermon our pastor preached yesterday. I am looking over my notes I took and I can’t help but be grateful for a great reminder of a truth. Isaiah wrote in chapter 40, verses 27-28:
The people of Israel needed a reminder, too, about who God really is. They already knew this truth, but had forgotten it. “How can you say…?” “Have you never heard? Have you never understood?”
God does know my troubles. God does not ignore my rights. His is the universe, yet He knows everything about me. Everything. Nothing is a surprise to Him.
God has placed a calling on my life. I just need to release the results. I am responsible only to keep my calling and to follow wherever God is leading. But I am not responsible for the results of my calling. Those are in God’s hands. This thought is very freeing. I don’t have to worry about the outcome. Just do what God has placed in front of me, and leave the outcome to Him. His is the universe. He sees the whole picture. He sees how my part fits into the larger picture of my existence.
Going into a new day/a new week it’s exciting to see what will happen. What will I experience? What will I face? Happy? Sad? What lesson will I learn this week? These are just a few thought swirling in my mind.
How about you? Are you looking forward to this week?
Well summarized, my friend! I was kicking myself halfway thru the message for not taking notes, and here they are!
